So, I was overseas this summer in a country that I guess could be
considered third world by many people, even though it didn't feel third
world to me! It was so beautiful that I never felt like it was
lacking in much! Anyways, I was amazed to discover that the pop
culture phenomenon of happy bunny stuff was all the way over there! I even saw some happy bunny stickers
on some of the cars! I think the weirdest part was the
realization that they didn't even know what their shirts said, because
they don't speak English!
So what does it say about our culture that pre-teens now sport happy bunny t-shirts that display a sophisicated synical sacrasm clearly beyond their ability to articulate. It's like giving a bozoka to my 5 year old son. I'd like to hear from any parent to give me the rational for allowing their teenager to put one of these happy bunny posters on their wall. What gives? I'm hoping and praying that when my kids get old enough to catch wind of these trends happy bunny stuff will be history.
